ABOUT
Gites de Verger are located on the outskirts of Sos in the South West of France, less than a five minute walk into the medieval village yet enjoying the peace and tranquility of a countryside location.
Nestling in the heart of Gascony, there is a plethora of beautiful and historical towns and villages within easy reach, as well as stunning countryside walks and bike rides right on the doorstep.
Don't miss Fources, Barbaste, Condom, Nérac and Montreal for starters, as well as Chateau de Poudenas who host fabulous weddings. Barbotan des Thermes and Casteljaloux both have fantastic thermal baths, open to the public as well as for healing treatments. Motoring/biking enthusiasts might want to see what's happening at Nogaro - less than an hour away. For food and drink lovers the region is awash with incredible produce and vineyards, as well as excellent and friendly restaurants showcasing the best that the area has to offer.
We are approximately an equal distance (under 2 hours) from Bordeaux, Toulouse and Bergerac for easy flights.
The village of Sos is charming, with everything you need for a comfortable stay: delicious meals all year round at the Bistro Sotiate; an amazing array of food, drinks and household essentials at the Proxi shop (and you can order your morning baguettes and croissants!); Post Office and a well stocked pharmacy.
***We are happy to announce that we have installed hot tubs and a huge additional sunbathing terrace for this year!***
OUR GITES
Refurbished between 2022 and 2024, the gites have everything you need for a luxury getaway with friends or family. The three gites (sleeping 4, 6 & 6) can be rented separately or together, accommodating a maximum of 16 people (plus infants) so are great for a group holiday. A large shared terrace and outside kitchen area is perfect for larger gatherings and communal dining. Separate terraces for each gite allow smaller groups some privacy while still enjoying the pool, large hot tub and garden.

THINGS TO DO
Winery visits
With plenty of vineyards offering tours and degustation of their wines, Armagnac and Floc within a short distance, it's no surprise that we have a few recommendations!
Gastronomy
There is an impressive array of restaurants of all styles close by, we would be happy to share our favourites. The gites are well equipped for you to cook during your stay and there are BBQs for outdoor grilling too!
Local markets
Most local towns have a weekly market with stalls selling seasonal produce - ask us for our list of "must visits". In the summer, the weekly night markets are excellent fun - in Sos it's on a Wednesday.
Leisure Activities
From walking to cycling to fishing or visiting the leisure lakes, you won't be short of things to do in the area. Alternatively you can just relax by the pool and have a game of badminton in the garden or a game of tennis at the village's court!
Wildlife
You can spot plenty of birds and hawks just from the garden, but deer, boar and other birds of prey are never far away either!
Historical villages
As well as Sos itself, the area is full of stunning towns and Bastide villages with fascinating histories and plenty of Instagram opportunities!
